Hi, I’m Shirin Khashei — a passionate textile and surface pattern designer with a deep appreciation for both traditional craftsmanship and modern design. Since 2018, I’ve been creating carpets and textile patterns that blend the rich heritage of Persian art with contemporary aesthetics, tailored for hospitality, residential interiors, and homewares.My skills span both digital and hand-drawn techniques. I specialize in using design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate, as well as drawing Persian motifs by hand — a craft rooted in tradition and artistic discipline. My understanding of color theory, repeat construction, and textile applications allows me to create designs that bring harmony, emotion, and meaning to every project.Now based in Sydney, I’ve collaborated on diverse international projects, including Axminster and digitally printed carpets, storytelling-inspired rugs, and decorative surface designs. Whether it’s developing detailed repeat patterns, creating commercial print-ready artwork, or adapting traditional motifs for modern lifestyles, I’m passionate about turning creative ideas into tangible, beautiful designs.My goal is to preserve traditional artistry while adapting it for contemporary living and diverse design applications.
